While individual homeless numbers continue their slow decline, family homelessness continues to rise.
Lack of affordable housing is the biggest challenge facing homeless families. The length of stay at our shelters increased 17% because families had difficulty finding affordable housing.
Families experiencing homelessness are under considerable stress.

MISSION
It is the mission of Mothers in Transition to promote the independence of mothers and children confronted with homelessness in the community and move families beyond poverty to a place where all people have access to quality housing, nutritious food, support services, educational training, and an opportunity to thrive in a supportive environment where their potential can be realized.
HISTORY
Mothers in Traansition was established to address the growing need of women and children who were homeless. Mothers in Transition emerged in cooperation with non profit faith based organizations established in 1989. These on-going thirty year old non profit organizations 501(c)(3) continue to respectively embrace the mission of working hand in hand to ending chronic homelessness in our community, our nation, and globally.
